Alfredo and Katrina Pizzini built Pizzini Wines in the beautiful King Valley based on their passions and their commitment to family and Pizzini’s Italian heritage. Their winemaking dream began in 1978 when they planted the first vines on the property, then in 1994 the first wine under the Pizzini label was produced. Today Alfredo and Katrina's four adult children Natalie, Joel, Carlo and Nicole all work in the business alongside them.
As a result of the Pizzini familys desire to honour their heritage, the King Valley has established itself as the home of Italian grape varieties in Australia. The shallow, rocky soils on the gently undulating slopes make perfect sites for Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo. While the more fertile zones along the valley floor leading to the King River grow fragrant Brachetto and crisp Prosecco.
